About Me
Singer-songwriter and guitarist Manny Trevin was introduced to music while still in his mother's womb. Coming from a musical family where his mother, father, and older brother performed in church every weekend, it was hard for him to escape growing up around music. While his first love was sports -- a dream lived out by participating in college football and track & field -- Manny first picked up a guitar at the tender age of 10. Though he would have rather been outside playing football or baseball, his parents quickly put together a musical group consisting of his siblings. Together, the family toured throughout West Texas to Wyoming (and Manny hated every minute of it!).
Surrounded by numerous musicians while attending the University of North Texas in Denton, TX, Manny figured out that it just might actually be cool to be a musician. He bought his first guitar at the age of 20, learned as many cover songs as he could, and started playing solo acoustic shows at local college bars. Heartbreak struck hard at the age of 22, and Manny began to express his emotions through songwriting. Drawing deep from the heart, Manny has written a collection of songs that express true hurt, anger, love, devotion, and hope.
His influences stretch from the music his parents listened to during his childhood to present day alternative sounds, including such artists as The Beatles, Chicago, The Dave Matthews Band, Pearl Jam, Matchbox 20, Pat Green, Sister Hazel, and Switchfoot. But like any true artist, he has developed his own unique sound that spans a wide range of material that can break your heart or rock the house. Manny is now touring regionally, and his fan base is growing on a daily basis as he connects with them through his emotional lyrics and passionate, energetic, live performances.
Manny Trevin's debut album, broken, introduces the listener to a profoundly emotional and thoughtful young talent whose loyal, loveable and high energy personality is already well-known to the Texas club scene. The 12-track collection is a stunning first effort that displays his ability to combine raw emotion with well-crafted, melodic songs and that emphasize Trevin's capacity to utilize a wide array of songwriting styles. His tracks range from the hard-rocking punch of So Cold, to the alternative-rock textures of Hello Again and Believe In Me, to the pop-rock sounds of Love Again and Far From Home. Beautiful Baby and Sid's Song demonstrate his ability to write powerful and poignant ballads that are steeped in simple and powerful emotion with lyrics that exhibit relationships at their best and their worst moments.
