I have been attending Rennfest ever since the late 1990's. It was one of the first events that my parents took me to, when we moved to Maryland, and I haven't missed a season since. I live for it. It is the only Rennfest that I have ever been to, and it is the 2nd largest in USA. As you can see by my photo albums, I started off as a visiting peasant, who did not dress up. My first costume was from a Halloween store, and it looked it. I wore a monk's robe, and carried a scythe. I called myself The Grim Friar. One day I did manage to lasso a pretzel from a passing vendor with it, but I soon decided that that costume just didn't measure up. This was also back in the days when The Rogues had Jimmy Mitchell (who just returned) and Lars Sloan. My next costume was a beige shirt and green pants, which had no pockets (dumb idea). My first season working at Rennest, resulted in my working the Fryed Ice Cream cart. Oh yeah, I also had one of those big hats (Green) with the plume. Well that job destroyed it, as the cart was half the size back then. I soon rebounded with a whole new costume, including footwear from Midieval Moccessins. This new costume features a burgandy shirt, in which I have to tie the sleevs (I will never buy one like this again). I also took one of my brown socks, and turned it into my trademark bandana. As the years have gone by, I have enjoyed various members of The Rogues - Lars Sloan, EJ Jones, Richard Kean, Jeremy, and the new guy Doug. My favorite foods include Scotch Egg, Pork Chop on Stick, corn, Blackberry Pie. My favorite drinks have included Serendipities, Old English Ale, and Bee Sting. Over the years I have enjoyed entertainment from Mud Pit aka Jury Rig aka Black Friar Stage, Sword Swallower Johnny Fox, Hilby The German Juggler, tall people, mimes, Pyrates Royale, Albannach, and many others. 2008 is my 3rd season of working MD Rennfest.
