***For booking info contact: Cody Downs @ 817-204-7631 or send us a message***After spending an hour trying to find the well-hidden Vampire Lounge, I finally made it in just before American Lab Rat took the stage. The crowd was small but vocal and obviously standing in anticipation of the performance. I took my place at the front of the stage next to a couple of pretty girls. The life of a photographer is a difficult one, indeed.American Lab Rat took the stage....and exploded. These guys took charge from the second they began and didn’t let up on the metal assault till the final notes were played.I have seen a lot of bands fall into the habit of hanging at the back whenever they play on a large stage. Not this band. They had no problem at all interacting with the crowd and getting right into their faces.I especially liked the visual touch of vocalist Jarod’s mic stand being strung with pill cases. Nice job on that. I like to see the little things band’s can do to personalize their performance.Special props goes to Geramy on the guitar who in a later performance ran blocker for me when I kept getting slammed by some out of control moshers who thought people with their backs turned made a fitting target to ram.You Rock, Geramy. Thank you for being a soldier AND a kick ass guitarist.Bassist Aaron seemed lost in his own world of metal and was especially entertaining to watch as he slipped in and out of his own thrashing mental state of being. And finally, drummer Aaron(yes, there are two Aarons) kept up the beats with mind numbing ferocity. This, in my opinion, was a top notch performance and I would recommend this band to anyone who has a true love of heavy metal.
