Hotep Idris

I'm a South African/American jazz pianist-educator-composer having spent some thirty years of exile in the United States where my inter action with various South African and American musicians resulted in an extensive recording and music academic career. I came back to a democratic South Africa in 1991. I'm happily married to a beautiful woman and we have five great children. My two eldest children,son and daughter live in the U.S. I'm currently the Director of the Miriam Makeba Centre of Performing Arts at the University of Fort Hare's East London Campus in the province of the Eastern Cape, South Africa.
