With the December 2006 release of their second studio album, Thirsty World, The Tryst offers up their signature blend of rock, jazz ,and soul, while further refining their distinctive sound. “ It was really important to maintain the organic aspect of our sound so that it translated properly on the new album,” says guitarist Tristan Owner. From the triumphant cadence of “Fallen,” and cryptic swing of “You Say,” to the soft caress of “It’s True,” the twelve tracks that define Thirsty World reveal an up and coming band determined to create an exciting new niche in the world of music.
Since their self-titled debut EP released in September 2005, The Tryst has worked tirelessly, consistently playing shows throughout the Southwest and quickly becoming one of the top concert draws in Tucson, Arizona. With a lively and loyal fan base, their performances never disappoint. Despite occasional comparisons, The Tryst maintains a style that is unique. Drawing from a vocabulary of soul, jazz, rock and funk, The Tryst artfully laces their music with Latin and world rhythms.
