About Me

I am a novelist. I have recently published the CIA hit man thriller "Fete of Death." If you like Robert Ludlum, Vince Flynn, Jack Higgins, Brad Thor, Lee Child, James Patterson, Dan Brown, Frederick Forsyth, John Grisham, Graham Greene, and other spy thriller writers, "Fete of Death" is probably for you.It took me about twenty years to write "Fete of Death," on and off, because I had to work at other jobs to support myself. It is available on the Internet at stores like Amazon.com."Fete of Death" is an action-packed thriller about a CIA hit man who uncovers a conspiracy that has its roots in the nation's capitol. The description on the back cover says, "A California senator is brutally slain. But that is only the beginning of the increasingly macabre murders of members of the Senate Intelligence Committee. . . ." You get the idea. For a more complete description, you can go to my Web site at www.BryanCassiday.com/description.As a writer, I was influenced by James Joyce, Ernest Hemingway, Robert Ludlum's baroque plots, Jack Higgins, Albert Camus, and Stendhal, among others.

My Interests

I like thriller and horror novels mostly, as well as thriller and horror movies. I like to drive up to the Santa Anita Racetrack and watch the Thoroughbreds race. On a clear day you can see the San Gabriel Mountains looming in the backgound and it's an invigorating prospect.

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet Stephen King, Vince Flynn, Jennifer Lopez, and Britney Spears--but not necessarily in that order, and definitely not together.

Music:

Guns 'n Roses, Led Zeppelin, the Doors, Aerosmith, Deep Purple, some Pink Floyd.

Movies:

"The Departed," "The Godfather, Part II," "1408," "Psycho," "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (the original version directed by Don Siegel), "Deep Red," "The Stendhal Syndrome," "The Bourne Ultimatum."

Television:

"24," "The Sopranos."

Books:

The Bourne trilogy by Robert Ludlum, "The Sun Also Rises," by Ernest Hemingway, "Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man" by James Joyce, "The Stranger" by Albert Camus, the short stories of Guy de Maupassant, "Lost Illusions" by Balzac, "Day of the Jackal" by Frederick Forsyth, "A Season in Hell" by Jack Higgins, "The Shining" by Stephen King, and the list goes on.

There Will Be Blood

Actually, there wasn't a lot of blood.  "There Will Be Blood" is perversely a grotesque comedy.  It is a very long slow ride with two main characters who are larger-than-life caricatures of ...

Why Do I Write?

Because I’m good at it. George Bernard Shaw once said he was a better writer than Shakespeare.  I say I’m a better writer than George Bernard Shaw. Copyright 2008 by Bryan Cassiday...
