About Me

____________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ ____
Born July 26, 1965 in Manhattan, Jeremy Samuel Piven was raised in Evanston, Illinois. As a child, Jeremy trained at Piven Theatre Workshop , founded by his parents Byrne Piven and Joyce Hiller Piven of whom
were actors and drama teachers. Jeremy con-
centrated on football by day and studying improv-
isational techniques by night. Jeremy is a grad-
uate of Evanston Township High School, Drake University (as an undergraduate), New York University (for a graduate degree), and the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center and The National Theater of Great Britain where he intensely studied Shakespearean acting. Jeremy has a sister, Shira, who is married to former Saturday Night Live writer and comedy director Adam McKay. Jeremy is uncle to Pearl from The Landlord .
Jeremy's first true national televised success came in the form of the critically-acclaimed ABC TV show Cupid, which was filmed in Chicago where he now owns a home. Much to the dismay of many fans, the show was cancelled after only 15 episodes.
Jeremy was also a regular on The Larry Sanders Show, and Ellen in the early and mid 1990’s, but neither garnered him as much recognition as his role in Cupid. During the same time frame, Jeremy was able to score a few guest stars on several re-
nowned shows such as the popular sitcom Seinfeld. He was also a guest star on the long-running NBC hit Will & Grace.
Over the years, Jeremy has also been the voice of many characters of animation, one of which was Harv from Disney Pixar's Cars. He was a regular on All Grown Up, the sequel series to the popular Rugrats cartoon (which he provided voices for as a guest star on two occassions). In addition, he provided his voice for characters from superhero cartoons Justice League Unlimited and MTV's Spider-Man. Jeremy has also made single episode appearances on a number of other TV cartoons.
Jeremy has been in-
volved in over 40 films over the years, in-
cluding Serendipity, Grosse Pointe Blank, Say Anything, Black Hawk Down, Just Write, Rush Hour 2, Kiss the Girls, Music From Another Room and Very Bad Things. Recently, Jeremy has had more signifi-
cant roles in films including Old School, Runaway Jury, Chasing Liberty, Two for the Money and Keeping Up with the Steins. Jeremy also received great reviews in 2006 as Buddy “Aces” Israel in Smokin’ Aces and can currently be seen in The Kingdom .
Jeremy's most recent success, however, has been on the small screen in his role as super agent Ari Gold in the HBO series Entourage , which garnered Jeremy an Emmy in 2006 and 2007 for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Next up, Jeremy will be starring in director Guy Ritchie's latest film RocknRolla (to be released Oct. 31st) and The Goods: The Don Ready Story (2009) .
