About Me

If I'm not performing music or engaged in some creative endeavor, I'm probably dead. Although I've spent the majority of my life in the spotlight, chasing that audience fueled adrenaline high, I've learned my truest moments of happiness come from just kicking back and keeping it real with the people I love. Right now I'm spinning some Bowie with the love of my life, and we're dancing around the record player with our slinky black cat Cricket while Coltrane lounges sleepy-eyed on the coffee table. I'm imaging a grand piano where that coffee table is, and it looks... perfect.

My Interests

What do I love? I love music!! Music, art, and everything that goes along with them. When I'm not at the piano making music, I write childrens books, cook, build websites, and make wacky fashions from ripped up old clothes.

I'd like to meet:

David Bowie... and Mozart.

Music:

David Bowie! Love And Rockets! Bauhaus! The Pixies! The Beatles. Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven and Chopin. The Rolling Stones. Aerosmith. Led Zeppelin. Pink Floyd. This amaaazing musician called Rey. Billy Joel and Elton John. Bjork!! Moby, Portishead, The Propellerheads, and Fatboy Slim. Danny Elfman. The Stranglers. Elvis Costello. Frank Sinatra. Ella Fitzgerald. And just about any DJ who spins good, deep, hard, dark progressive house.

Movies:

Koyaanisqatsi (an independent film by Godfrey Reggio with a film score by Philip Glass) is the most amazing film I've ever seen. Other favorites include Kids In The Hall's Brain Candy, 2001 A Space Odyssey, Amadeus, The Sound of Music, The Count of Monte Cristo, Mystic River, The Dark Crystal, The Sea Prince and the Fire Child, The Last Unicorn, and lots of Woody Allen's stuff.

Television:

False.

Books:

Anything by Dr. Seuss.

Heroes:

They usually die in the end.

My Blog

X-Rated Eden (my latest masterpiece)

For those of you who like the lyrics to my song "Something Wicked" off my Pianist Envy CD, here's a whole poem. It just came gushing out the other night... no offense to the boys. ~:o) ...............
