I'd like to meet:

Other anti-authoritarians, anarchists of any flag, and community activists interested in participating with the Syracuse Solidarity Network. We are NOT an exclusive group. Instead, we base our affinity with one another around "Points of Unity".

SSN is participant in the North East Anarchist Network . The Northeast Anarchist Network (NEAN) is a recently formed network of anarchists and anti-authoritarian organizations and individuals that has been meeting and collaborating since February of 2007. Comprising groups and individuals from 7 sub-regions in the northeast our aim is to create a regional, horizontal organizing network in the Northeast, linking those committed to struggles anti-authoritarian, anti-capitalist and anti-oppressive.

NEANARCHIST.net

SSN Points of Unity :
1) A rejection of capitalism, imperialism, and authoritarianism (hierarchy/ the State).
2) A rejection of all systems of oppression, including but not limited to sexism, white supremacy, heterosexism, and capitalism. We recognize that all forms of oppression are interconnected and support the self-organization and autonomy of oppressed groups. Respecting different priorities, we will reject imposing a hierarchy of oppressions in our organizing and will recognize the leadership and resistance of communities directly affected. We will be accountable for power and privilege within our network and work towards a holistic anti-oppression culture of resistance.
3) An organizational philosophy based on decentralization, autonomy, and mutual aid.
4) An attitude of active resistance towards all state, corporate and other oppressive institutions.
5) A call to direct action, support for emancipatory social movements across Syracuse and the world, advocating the liberation of all as well as the construction of alternatives in Syracuse.

We are a group of autonomous Syracuse anarchists, anti-authoritarians, and community activists. When we look at the world around us it fills us with grief and rage.
A world of pointless wars with no end, a world of ecological devastation. A world full of racism, corruption, and greed. The old order of cops and bosses has grown stale and change is necessary.
We have a new world in our hearts. A world in which there is room for many worlds to fit. A pluralist world beyond borders and profit. A world where mutual aid, consent, and solidarity exist as the foundations toward building a free and just global community. But freedom and justice are useless without liberation. Freedom and liberation need to be defined by the people, not by politicians or a system based on white supremacist capitalist patriarchy. We need to fight the rich, not their wars!
The Iraq war is just one more expression of the social war we fight everyday. The battle lines between the wealthy elite and the exploited masses have not shifted. As the economy becomes globalized, so does resistance. Resistance is constant and growing. From the Zapatista movement to the indigenous in this country asserting their autonomy and land rights. From the Sans Papiers in France declaring that no one is illegal to the local labor organizers fighting the racist terror of the ICE raids. From farmers in India burning genetically engineered crops which threaten their livelihoods and the food chain of the entire planet to those who carry on the earth liberation struggle in the face of the repressive state tactics of the Green Scare.
Each and every one of us is a part of this fight. Whether we like it or not, each of our lives has a very real impact on the rest of the world. So we all need to choose...which side are we on? Do we want to continue to work and die so that a few rich people can get even richer? Or do we want to take control of our own lives, our own destinies, and defend the planet and all of its inhabitants from further exploitation and destruction?
The choice is yours...and time is running out.
