Les Figurines

Steevo (singer/bass) from France (Paris). Born in in Paris. Lives in London since 2000 , met Tom (Guitars/vocals-British) in 2002 while Steevo was living a rock n roll life in different squats in London , they asked Rob (Drummer,Irish) to join them in 2003 and they formed "ze" band.
Their music is inspired by the like of The Cure, Joy Division,Nirvana,Portishead,Sonic Youth,The velvet underground,Nico,Siouxsie and the banshees,Placebo,The Breeders/The Pixies, Korn,Rage Against the Machine , Radiohead and some French music like Serge Gainsbourg,Noir Desir,Les Rita Mitsouko ...And their own rock' n' roll life!
They got signed with an indie label from London(Criminal Records) in 2004 ,not to bad Steevo:Got signed with his first band after his first gig!They released in 2005 their first EP :
"Criminal Infection ".
This includes 6 excellent tracks laid with heavy bass, sexy vocals and great songs that you can't sit still through. Lead of track "Buzzing Dude" is a true classic with a back to back vocals of Steevo and Tom in a slanging match "I think they suck ; I think you suck!". Music well ahead of its time ,Les Figurines confirm their alternative edge with their must have EP (Criminal Records).

"We are often inundated with poor commercial music,that it is easy to wrongly assume the average gig will be less than inspiring.Reservations aside ,I was fairly content that I had taken a step out of the box.As Les Figurines took to the stage,a horde of loyal supporters emerged and it was apparent they felt the same.Many glazy eyed and smoke stained,nicotine nor any other cravings could not keep them away from the most established band on the bill.Their set was powerful and bass heavy.Tom Ruddocks piercing guitar licks ran swiftly with solid drumming (Rob O'Shea) and the hard bass of frontman Steevo Nuissier,who was fittingly wearing a Ladytron's t-shirt.Their intense wall of sound laid a dynamic surface for Steevo's sultry vocals to press into.The occasional bursts of power-backing-vocals reminded me 'Yes there is a musical revolution-Yes we are winning'.As 'Hysterical' screamed out from the stage ,I got the feeling we had all heard this track before,bodies flailing energetically and a general vibe ofendorsement.Their set closed with 'Kalm', which i contrast to the name,was another upbeat rock eye-opener,tinged with the romanticism of early Cure-esque gothica."
