Criminal Records review of Spider Redundant's self titled EP -
Spider Redundant - 'Spider Redundant' EP CRIM1011CD.
"These talented guys produce fresh rock with a difference, mixing the a hint of Kirk Hammett’s lead guitar with the catchiness of new rock like System: the results are astounding. Featuring two identical twins in their line up, it may be understandable why Spider Redundant have developed such a holistic band sound. Rock vocals, solid drumming, heavy guitars and bass : These are the elements that define this unstoppable band and make for a great EP. Lead off track ‘A place in your mind’ demonstrates this so well; a great sound and a needed EP".

Band Biography :
Spider Redundant formed in 2002 out of a group of friends from north London who all wanted to make music that contained quality and technicality but that would also be appealing to a wide spread audience.
Since their inception, Spider Redundant have gone from strength to strength and played shows with some amazing bands. Although only two official EP's have been produced to date, the songs recorded demonstrate the potential the band has to succeed, something which is also reflected by the band's personal ethos.
The band have already built a solid and loyal fan base in the London scene with songs like 'Play the Game', 'Generations Divide' and 'A Thousand different ways'. Further more, the bands diverse range of influences means they are just as likely to produce a slow melodic catchy chorus as they are a brutal and crushing breakdown. This prevents most from labeling them a particular genre of rock music and you will find bits of metal, grunge, screamo, punk and hardcore mixed in with more traditional sounds. Add these elements to an already energetic and solid live show and it becomes clear why Spider Redundant are starting catch peoples attention. With a tour and new studio recordings all planned for later in the year, the future is looking bright.
