False Friend – eigentlich nix weiter als vier Kumpels, die Bock auf
schnellen Punk Rock, jenseits von Pop- oder sonstigen Eskapaden haben.....
Gegründet hat sich die Band im Herbst 2004, nachdem die damalige Bassistin
Maggie ausgestiegen ist und Drummer Steffen seinen Freund Stefan in die
Band geholt hat.
Anfangs ging man noch recht ungestüm voran, straight forward in your face
sozusagen, doch mittlerweile haben die vier ihren Stil gefunden und das
Songwriting ist souveräner und ausgefeilter geworden.
Man hat sich persönlich weiterentwickelt und neue Einflüsse in die Musik
zugelassen, die nicht immer nur bei den üblichen, kalifornischen
Verdächtigen zu suchen sind!
Hardcore ist mittlerweile ebenso ein Teil der Musik, sowie die ruhigen
Momente und die zum Teil Stoner-Rock inspirierten Riffs.
Eins hat sich aber nicht geändert: der Fuss wird nicht vom Gaspedal
genommen!
Die Art, wie False Friend Punk Rock definieren mag vielleicht das Rad
nicht neu erfinden – wie auch? - aber sie versuchen damit, aus der Masse
der vielen, vielen Punkbands rauszustechen!
In Berlin ist man auf dem besten Wege dazu, was nicht zuletzt an den
häufigen Gigs dort liegt. Bisher spielten False Friend Support-Shows für LAWRENCE ARMS, STREELIGHT MANIFESTO, M-SIXTEEN, CRUSHING CASPARS, RADIO HAVANNA, DENY EVERYTHING, NO OPINION, UNCOMMOMMENFROMMARS, SET YOUR GOALS, NO TRIGGER und DEAFNESS BY NOISE.
Allerdings möchte man viel öfter raus, deshalb sind die Jungs Mitte März
2007 nach Neustadt an der Weinstraße (Pfalz) ins MINORFATDINER-Studio
gefahren und haben dort in zehn Tagen ihr Debut-Album aufgenommen.
Wollen wir hoffen, dass sich bald ein Label finden lässt, das dieses schöne Stück
Punk Rock unter die Leute zu bringen bereit ist!
False Friend wollen so oft spielen, wie es möglich ist, deshalb schreibt

FALSE FRIEND – in fact nothing more than four guys, who loves to play fast punkrock, without any pop-or whatever-antics....
Formed in 2004, after the old bassist quit and drummer Steffen askes Stefan to join the Band. The old days were rough, straight forward in your face-punkrock, but meanwhile the songwriting became more complicated and better.
The band developed personally and let more influences into their music, wich is more than just punkrock! Today hardcore is as typical for the their music as the quite moments or even the stoner-rock-riffs!
But one thing didn't change: they didn't take their feet off the accelerator!
The way FALSE FRIEND define punkrock may not reinvent the wheel – who can? - but they try to be different from all the other bans around!
In Berlin they're on the best way to it, but they wanna play more and more and more!!
Up to now they played with national and international bands like LAWRENCE ARMS, STREELIGHT MANIFESTO, M-SIXTEEN, CRUSHING CASPARS, RADIO HAVANNA, DENY EVERYTHING, NO OPINION, UNCOMMOMMENFROMMARS, SET YOUR GOALS, NO TRIGGER and DEAFNESS BY NOISE.
That's why they drived 700km to southern Germany to the MinorFatDinor-Studio to record within ten days their debut-album!
Let's hope they'll find a label who want to put out that wonderful piece of punkrock!
