Rane Mantorres is a gunfighter with a big reputation and an even bigger score to settle. When he learns his enemy plans to kidnap a wealthy rancher’s daughter, he foils the plot and kidnaps her himself. Now he must dare far more than he bargained as he’s caught between his thirst for justice and a burning desire for his spirited hostage. My Interests

Besides writing, I'm also an artist. My favorite subjects are horses, cowboys, and western landscapes. I also enjoy needlecrafts and do quite a bit of quilting and crochet work.

I'd like to meet:

Hi! Thanks for stopping by! My name is Devon Matthews. I'm a romance novelist and avid reader. I love western historicals and that's mostly what I write, although I do venture into other genres from time to time. I'd like to meet other authors and readers.

Music:

I love all genres of music, so long as it's good. What I listen to depends on my mood at the time, or the mood I'm trying to set.

Movies:

I love all kinds of movies--romance, westerns, action-adventure, sci-fi, even some of the ridiculous slapstick comedies. As long as it's entertaining and well-done, I'll watch it.

Television:

I don't watch much television, but I never miss Battlestar Galactica, Lost, or American Idol.

Books:

My favorites are romance novels, of course. Mainly historicals, but I also toss in a few contemps and paranormals from time to time. If I had to choose my all-time favorite books, they would be: Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry. Heart of the West and The Outsider by Penelope Williamson. Shield of Three Lions by Pamela Kaufman. Anything by LaVyrle Spencer and Maggie Osborne. The list could go on for a very long time. But those are the ones who immediately come to mind.

Heroes:

My number 1 hero is my husband. After that, I would have to say Audie Murphy. All our military guys and gals, and the unsung heroes who punch a time card every day and take care of their families.
