The OFFICIAL MySpace for Drummer, Jason Gianni

About Me

Jason Gianni is currently a full-time instructor at The Drummers Collective in NYC. At The Collective, he teaches all styles (ranging from Afro-Cuban to Jazz to Funk studies) with a concentration on Odd-Time studies, advanced 4-way independent Polyrhythm studies, Ostinato soloing and Progressive Rock/Metal concepts. Jason teaches privately as well as instructs his own 10-week Progressive Rock EIP (elective) course at the school. Lessons are available directly through the front office of The Drummers Collective. He is the co-author of the acclaimed drum book, The Drummers Bible which has sold thousands of copies throughout the world. As a session drummer, you may recognize his drumming work specifically on the theme song for the famous cartoon, ’SpongeBob Squarepants,’ as well as drum tracks throughout the 1st season of ’Hannah Montana,’ and commercials for clients such as McDonalds, Izusu, Discover, Pine Sol, ’A Bug’s Life,’ Ebay, Sprint and many, many more. Jason spent 6 years as a full-time, touring member of the popular Bay Area rock band, ’MiGGs.’ "Insomnia," the 2nd CD released by MiGGs, was signed to 33rd Street Records (produced by Gavin McKillop) and the single entitled, "Perfect," reached into the Billboard top 50 in 2005. In addition, Jason was the featured drummer on "Impossible Figures," a recent CD by progressive artists Magellan on InsideOut Records. Last summer, Jason was asked to be an instructor at the first-annual Drum Fantasy Camp (in South Orange, NJ) giving clinics and master classes along with drummers such as Dave Weckl, Steve Smith, Jason Bittner, and Horatio Hernandez. Most recently, Jason has recorded a beginners DVD for Hudson Music for the Sound Percussion drum set line. The DVD, set for release in the near future, covers the basic assembly, construction and beginning steps to getting started on drum set. He endorses Paiste cymbals, Vic Firth Drum Sticks and Remo drum heads.
