Shaman Entertainment Group (SEG) was established by Kate Carpenter and Amy Gowan in 2003, and since then has been building a management and promotions company known for its relentless pursuit of thinking outside the jewell case to establish an innovative and unconventionally strategic artist management company. SEG previously managed and launched the career of the former San Francisco-based pop rock band, Miggs, who recently inked a deal with Pama Records/Universal, Scandinavia and is touring the world.
Carpenter is also a Partner in the 105 year-old San Francisco law firm of Cooper White & Cooper LLP. Cooper has decades of experience in the media, broadband, sports and entertainment industries and is also internationally known for its expertise in trademark and intellectual property matters. In addition, SEG co-founder Amy Gowan interned at KFOG radio in San Francisco, and recently graduated from San Jose State University, with a degree in Public Relations. Gowan will be starting at her first year of law school at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in the fall while continuing her work in the music and entertainment industry.
SEG currently manages PUNCHFACE, a new innovative young rock band based in the SF Bay Area about which one reviewer exclaimed that PUNCHFACE's high-energetic blend of funky pop, rockin tunes is proof that "good music is not going away anytime soon." SEG has built its reputation for artist loyalty and around the clock artist accessibility, and by continuing to develop strategic relationships and partnerships throughout the industry, SEG is positioned to redefine traditional artist management.
