About Me

Preserving Hollywood's Landmarks for Over Twenty-Five Years
The Wattles Mansion, Hollywood,CA
About Hollywood Heritage, Inc.

Hollywood Heritage is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the historic built environment in Hollywood, California and to education about the role of the early film industry and its pioneers in shaping that environment.
We play a significant role in the preservation of numerous Historic Cultural Monuments and monitor the Hollywood Register of Historic Places. We successfully nominated the Hollywood Boulevard Historic Commercial and Entertainment District to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
Hollywood Heritage’s activities include preservation advocacy, history education and programming. We are proud to have restored and maintain two of the oldest and most important buildings in Hollywood, which include the Lasky-DeMille Barn and The Wattles Mansion and Gardens.
The Wattles Mansion and Gardens
The Wattles Mansion and Gardens (1907) is the last remaining wintering estate in Hollywood that was built prior to the rise of the film industry. The residence and formal gardens, located at 1824 N. Curson Avenue (in Hollywood), are available for weddings, film shoots and other special events on a rental basis. For more information visit our website at: www.hollywoodheritage.org
The Lasky-DeMille Barn / Hollywood Heritage Museum
The 1895 Lasky-DeMille Barn, a California State Landmark, has housed the Hollywood Heritage Museum since 1986. The museum features rare photographs from the earliest days of motion picture production, movie props, historic documents and other movie memorabilia, as well as historic photos and memorabilia of the Hollywood community covering the past 100 years.
The museum is open Saturdays and Sundays, from 11am - 4pm. For additional hours, please call (323) 874-2276. The Barn is located at 2100 N. Highland Ave., directly across from the Hollywood Bowl. Parking is free. Admission prices: Adults $5. Seniors and children (3-12) $3. Members are admitted free of charge.
Programming at the Lasky-DeMille Barn/Hollywood Heritage Museum includes Evenings @ The Barn (Sept. - June) and screenings of silent films by The Silent Society of Hollywood Heritage.
During July and August, the screenings move outdoors to the Paramount Ranch in Agoura as the popular series Silents Under The Stars.
