Ninio formed about 5 years ago and started out doin stripped back funk grooves remenisant of meters and early funkadelic, they wrote there own songs and as time went on the started to find a sound that was there own. 1 year ago they asigned a new drummer dave anstie, whos energy and enthusiasm for drumming really set ninio on the path that they had been looking for. with higher energy than ever they wrote a whole new set in 6 months and where back on the local scene. never a band to follow the scene ninio is made up of 4 players that just love playing and love playing loud, they seem to have got a reputation of being a funk band, but maybe wrongly so, as they bring many differant things to the table. you can tell by the eclectic crowds that there is maybe something for everyone. 2006 will see ninio again with freshly written songs and a new 3 track cd (recorded at 2fly) play the local scene and with interest from all over they will be creeping into columns and the airwaves in the uk.If you want to contact ninio, email at this address.
