About Me

After putting her musical fingers into a lot of performing pies, Helen Panayiotou decided to try out her own unique recipe, one to her individual tastes and insight. Standing as a solo artist fits in perfectly with her free thinking, non conformist personality. Knowing that her vocal ability was enough to hypnotize any innocent serpent, she knew that her next mission was to make friends with her acoustic guitar and the magic would begin. Indeed it did, with a stream of poems already bombarding her journals she had no difficulties in creating captivating melodies accompanied by a fresh finger picking playing style. With an immense amount of eclectic influences ranging from Prince, Radiohead, Pearl Jam and NIN to the more feminine findings of Paula Cole, Ani Difranco, Tori Amos, Fiona Apple and Heather Nova. Helen is still able to keep to her own style and delivers each song with the same passion and sincerity that came with every birth.Renowned for her haunting vocals combined with a nameless American alter-ego on stage she is without doubt an attention-grabbing performer. Although Helen is a world aware woman she is still in the early stages of her tuneful journey, which means there is plenty of time to get involved and witness the evolution of this songwriters ability.Needing to spread her wings a little Helen decided to reply to an advertisment on the internet as a vocalist for an up and coming band called Seedy Player. They instantly loved her and have been generating an amazing and sexy sound with funky riffs, drum and bass rhythms and poignant melodies.Ms. Panayiotou has graced the stages of many of the venues in Liverpool starting with open mic nights such as Bar Cava, Jacaranda and Hannahs Bar. Then was asked to perform at Wimfest, Oxton Festival, Zanzibar and also The Swan in Bolton. She has recently had her song Secret Love put onto the Mixomatosis compilation CD.*this bio was written by S. Kearney--------there.. spelt right)

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: helenpanayiotou.co.uk/
Band Members: little me, my little guitar...... and paul carroll on his slightly bigger more special guitar...
Influences: music moves me like the ocean would. some songs pull me up and i am surfing, others drag me down and i begin to drown in it. i spend my life listening to other people, telling me stories within their songs, listening to their voices breathing in...... and trying to be like myself, whoever i am at that point in time.i think we are all multidimentional, hence why we are all so difficult. i write so many poems and songs i cant keep track of them. and like all music, some of my own music kills me emotionally, and yet, i find myself breathing it in, because its real. i write from the heart, no time for playing.i guess thats why when i play i do it with passion. everything means something... to me.. and maybe nothing to you???? i cant spell, but spelling is just social control. and i hate being controlled.. so spelling errors ahoy! hahaha
Sounds Like: i dont know, you tell me? a bit eerie..(i have been told i haunt people with my vocals...is that another way of telling someone to shut up, or stop it your scaring me? come listen and tell me! in a nice voice.
