Hello! Just a vegan girl trying to spread the word about veganism!
"Those who claim to care about the well-being of human beings and the preservation of our environment should become vegetarians for that reason alone. They would thereby increase the amount of grain available to feed people elsewhere, reduce pollution, save water and energy, and cease contributing to the clearing of forests.… When nonvegetarians say that “human problems come first†I cannot help wondering what exactly it is that they are doing for human beings that compels them to continue to support the wasteful, ruthless exploitation of farm animals" Peter Singer, Animal Liberation Read - why vegan on www.veganoutreach.org
And to all those people that keep saying what about all the animals killed in wheat production? There is a big difference between being accidentally killed and being brutally murdered. Veggies, fruits, grains, etc, those industries don't have people go out to hunt and kill the animals. USDA APHIS' Wildlife Services and livestock producers kill wildlife to protect farmed animals. Having eliminated native populations of wolves and grizzly bears, federal government hunters now kill about 100,000 coyotes, bobcats, feral hogs, bison, and mountain lions each year. They are shot, caught in steel-jaw leghold traps or neck nooses, or poisoned with cyanide.
"Animals are God's creatures, not human property, nor utilities, nor resources, nor commodities, but precious beings in God's sight." Rev. Andrew Linzey Why aren't all Catholics Vegan? thou Shall not kill?
