The Rye Catchers are a five peice rock band from Victoria, Australia. This is their story:
`Yeahnah', the song you just heard with the accompanying animation, is the most sucessful Rye Catchers single, released back in 2005 it reached number five on the AIR charts and stayed in the top 20 for 9 weeks. It was made the drive-time theme song by a radio station in NT. Then almost a year later the film clip you just watched was finished! Are the DYI spirit at its most haphazard. The clip got played on rage a few times and we made a DVD that you can get off us if you ask nicely. We like to play rock music, and consider ourselves to be the best band to drink to in regional Victoria. Other stuff of ours is available through MGM Distribution. We've played gigs with Tumbleweed, Magic Dirt, Dallas Crane, The Pictures, Epicure, Evermore, Thirsty Merc, The Exploders, Love Outside Andromeda, The Sparrows, Mental As Anything, Swayback, Matt Walker & Ashleigh Davies and heaps more great oz acts. Cheers.

Influences: These songs are all from our debut album, Ridicule, from WAY back in 1999! Its the only release of ours that I'm certain we've all the rights to, (released independetly without distribution even), so here it is available for sale online. We still even play some of them! (And hey, we've still got about 30 disks I think, so if you'd like a hard copy let me know and we'll sort something out). Enjoy, Earl.

Sounds Like: Rolling Stones, Kings of Leon, Clutch, Monster Magnet, Dead Kennedys, Yes I am listing bands that dont sound like each other- but seriously we've been compared to all of them at one point or another, Led Zeppelin, Urge Overkill, Tim Buckley, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, The Go Betweens, Supergrass, The Cure, You Am I, I think its because most people like familiarity and so go out of their way to compare one band to another, Sound Garden, The Dingoes, The Beatles, The Exploders, The Roys, The Zombies, Cat Stevens, Pearl Jam, Television, Dallas Crane, The Pictures, Bzark, Hoodoo Gurus, I don't think we sound much like any of these bands really- but they're all pretty good, Talking Heads, The International Noise Conspiracy...
