You haven’t seen anything until you’ve seen these 5 guys live. Haling from different parts of Illinois they all attend Illinois State University where they have developed one of the strongest followings a college band has in a long time. That comes as no real surprise with songs like “Friends With Benefits†and “Night With The Right†appealing to the struggles of adolescence and each song telling a true “coming of age†story in itself. I was able to ask Jason Fein, lead singer and lyricist of The Run Around a few questions about where he gets the ideas for the incredibly catchy and relevant topics that seem to come out in every song. He simply said “ You can’t force anything or BS it because that will come out in the message. I will never be able to write a song that I think people want to hear unless it’s something I feel.†The band has been traveling the Midwest for over a year now and have been busy in the studio just releasing their second EP in just 7 months entitled “Switchblades and Serenades†The title track shows the darker side of the band and justifies them as a truly diverse group of musicians and not just another pop punk band.
