The guitar playing part of the storey begins ... when I was 14 -I was an aspiring artist -illustrater - Avid music listener . As a young teenager I took over the basement as an art studio , I set an area up to make home made animated movies .. i made two short clips - took forever . Anyway , I used to sit in front of my drawing board with headphones on (40 foot cable wrapped thru the basement over to my stereo - like a closeline) . i thought i could draw more accurate guitar player pics if i took some lessons . Bam ! I was hooked on the guitar . Soon it took over and I let the drawing side go and pursued music .
I have a solo cd out Sean Ashby Brass And Gold -produced by myself - mixed by warne Livesy -Talk Talk , The The , Happy Mondays , Midnight Oil , Jets Overhead and recently completed working with Chris Walla from the "Death Cab For Cutie" camp his solo cd .
My new solo cd focuses on my songwriting/singing/guitar/producing/ . I mixed one song . The musicians on the cd are Ray Garraway-drummer with K-OS -Sean Drabbit on bass -he has worked with people like Branford and Winton Marcellus - Two songs have string sections arranged by Kevin Fox . Also Paul Intson plays bass on one song as well as Maury Lafoy - bass on one song . Danny Lockwood plays drums on one song .Todd Fancey from the New Pornographers - Jack Tripper , sings some bgs also Nick Pesut Jack tripper alumni sings bg's and plays percusion on some tunes. Lots of guitars - I played 4 notes on piano on one tune other than that , its lots of guitar sound -
