The Treeking Crees

About Me

The new album "Ever Ours", produced by Adam, with very heavy-handed suggestions from Nick, that could be completely construed as co-producing. The band's name "The Treeking Crees", was born out of the mouth of a 6 foot 1 tall amazon, during a walk through the woods one breezy summer day.

Band Members: Nick sings, plays guitars, bass, piano, organ, keys and other stuff. Adam plays guitars, bass, piano, organ, keys and other stuff. Tim plays drums.
Influences: Influenced by a great deal of music, many styles and tastes I guess. If we're talking pop or folk-rock in general, in the '80s/'90s, in Canada it was bands like The Grapes of Wrath, Skydiggers, Cowboy Junkies, Crash Vegas, Blue Rodeo, Odds, Sloan and Sarah McLachlan. The rest would be the greats like Radiohead, R.E.M., U2, The Cure, The Smiths, David Bowie, Talking Heads, Roger Waters and so on. There are just too many to list. We've always been a fan of minor chords and sad/pretty sounding stuff, so sue us.
Sounds Like: When it comes to gear in the studio, we always try to use as many "real" instruments as possible, that is important. Main acoustic guitars used were a variety of Martin and Taylor 6/12 strings. Electric guitars used were Gretsch, Godin and Fender Precision for bass. Nordheimer baby grand piano, organs were 1965 Hammond and 1964 VOX Continental. If you listen closely, you may even hear a Chamberlin and Mellotron on a track or two. Main Amplifier was a 1965 VOX AC50, used for both guitar and bass.
