He studied under Kat Eggleston for ten years before venturing to Bard College in upstate New York. Several years in to his college studies, Max travelled to Senegal, West Africa to study the Mandenko technique with the Cissoko griot family and has returned several times.Max now resides and works in Brooklyn, New York. He has put out two disks (Southport Records, Chicago; ZT PubCo, New York) with each being quite different from the other. He is in the process of putting out his third disk, with an expected release this July, 2007.
