Music to get lost in...

About Me

MyGen Profile Generator They call it Prog Pop.
But the music of Powell Morgan & Sixty5 Roses seems to remind every listener of something uniquely personal. Attempts to categorise the sound have resulted in a wild variety of comparisons, from Brian Wilson & Robert Plant living in Bombay to Simon Le Bon fronting System of a Down.
After many years of obsessive writing and recording, PM&65R have developed a complex and ambitious style with a forensic attention to detail. The music draws on elements of classic rock and metal, 80's pop & Middle Eastern/European vocal influences delivered as a true "wall of sound".
This diverse blend of influences gives the band an immediately identifiable sound, densely layered with three-part vocal harmonies, effect-drenched guitars & intricate arrangements.
Early demo reviews were universal in praise, but wondered how such an enormous sound could be recreated live. Proving that the material sounded even more epic delivered onstage, the band played a series of stunning live shows including support slots with New York’s Blood on the Wall (Social Registry), Canada's The Hidden Cameras (Rough Trade), Seattle’s Eastern Conference Champions (Seratone), My Latest Novel (Bella Union) and The Hours (A & M) in addition to headlining Manchester’s world famous In The City festival.
The band’s detachment from any type of scene has given them a real purpose to provide an alternative, and their genuine understanding and appreciation of so many genres has allowed the freedom to mix elements of any influence at any time in any way.
