About Me

The Generalissimos have been going in their current form for just over a year now. We're based in Withington, Manchester where we live and rehearse in a big house where the ceiling occasionally falls down. Tim plays the bass and sings, Gaz plays the guitar and also sings, Mr. Bonzo Diggidy plays the drums and sometimes sings. We like to make music that is fast, loud and slightly odd, yet still resembles pop music and is capable of making people throw themselves around wildly on beer stained dance floors around Manchester. From our underground base we have already produced a whole bootleg series worth of material ranging from spiky punky rocky music, to rock opera to music hall, to space rock, to out and out pop music and even the occasional badly judged forray into hip hop. We can't fit it all on this site, but if you have some kind of naughty file sharing programme like Soulseek, then you might be able to find it and enjoy...Currently we all live in a big old house in Withington and are looking for gigs, a record deal and the opportunity to bring our own particular brand of rock to an unsuspecting world. The Generalissimos - 'Face Meltingly Fast, Pant Shittingly Loud'Below you will find the video we took of our last 24 hr album... It makes us happy, I hope it does the same for you!

Sounds Like: Some nice things that nice people have said about us..."...a rattling cacophony of pure pop and buzzsaw guitar grinds, somewhere between The Buzzcocks and a sketchpad version of The Zutons. “Telescope” is the bands version of spangled sixth form college punk rock, jacked up and jerked around by irreverent guitars and the almost mad cap vocals and harmonies, which shouldn’t work. But do. They like moustaches, I definitely like this record." manchestermusic.co.uk on our demo of Telescope"...gleeful and intoxicating... they mustn't stop until Jeremy Paxman wears one of their trademark curly moustaches to present Newsnight." manchestermusic.co.uk again on our gig at Trof NQ “Think of the best bits of The Pixes, Supergrass, Archie Bronson Outfit, then shaken in the pocket of Mr. Billy Childish and then you're almost there.” Auto Test Pilot“Tune digited hairy love-spud avalanche” Group Hug, Manchester"One of the world's finest bands" Cloudsounds Radio
