"That Which Does Not Kill You, Kills You Slowly..."

About Me

I'm a mystery, wrapped in an enigma, and coated with Easy Cheese. Oh, yeah-- and despite what Myspace says, **I'M** one of the "COOL NEW PEOPLE", got it?!

BANNERS:

CHECK OUT MY GROUP! WE'RE ALL ABOUT HAVING FUN DUELING WITH LIGHTSABERS AND GEEKING OUT ABOUT STAR WARS! BE A FRIEND OR BE A MEMBER...

I'm definitely no expert, I'm not in a paranormal group, but if I can learn from, and share/ work with with others in the field, to help gain a better insight & understanding, great! Of course, if I WAS in a group, and people (both the living and the dead) could be helped in any way via my passion for researching/investigating the unexplained, even better!

I also love animals, so please take a moment to watch these important videos, if you do, too:
Charlize Theron - Stop Puppy Mills!
Sarah McLachlan Asks You To Help...
ASPCA

..

Some things I love (in no order of importance):
Movies (nothing beats the untold emotions that unfold in a darkened theater)

Animals (I'm a big animal person- love my dog & cat furbabies)

Working out (I admit, sometimes my eyes do more working out than my body)

Music (generally anything that's honest/ real)

Food (I absolutely love peanut butter on wheat bread for some reason- can't explain it, I just do)

Games (video/board-- love to play ping pong and the Wii with my niece & nephew)
The paranormal (I am fascinated by the unexplained and investigating the unknown...love going on paranormal trips/ ghost investigations)

Museums/zoos (one of my childhood dreams was to be a zookeeper)

Psychology (it's interesting trying to find out what makes myself & others tick)

Nature (ugly man-made structures like telephone poles, Wal-Marts,and most urban landscapes can't hold a candle to places untouched by man)

Art (all mediums; the purity of self-expression can in turn connect us all/ humanize us)

...I'm open to other interests, too! I'm definitely NOT a sports fanatic, however. I'd rather have a paper cut across my eyeball than watch or attend a sporting event. Something offbeat, maybe, but not football, baseball, basketball, etc. Hey, ladies, this would mean more quality time with you...so take me up on my offer, whywontcha!

OH, and hey...enjoy the Earth while it lasts...

Poodwaddle.com

I'd like to meet:

Michael McDonald-- I really want to ask what special white-soul pizazz he adds to his tunes that make them THE soundtrack for shopping at Kohl's. Alternatively, in case the ex-Doobie Brother is unavailable-- any funny, sweet, smart, sensitive, non-smoking (yet smokin' hot, ha ha) woman will do just nicely for starters! I'm one-of-a-kind (and luckily for you, mostly kind, if I like you). Guys and gals and fellow misanthropes simply looking for a friend are also welcome! Oh, and these lovely ladies (Tina Fey & Jenna Fischer) are welcome anytime...

Ok, ok...it's probably better for me to befriend available women rather than fantasize about unavailable ones that would never have anything to do with me EVER, but a guy can dream, right?! :)

Gimme a shout, Myspacers!

Music:

I like lots-o-stuff...from Tom Jones to Tom Waits and everything in between! My iPod has about 9,000 + songs-- you just might hear some doo-wop, followed by punk, followed by Dexy's Midnight Runners, washed down with some Robert Johnson! Just a few of the other artists I like are (in no particular order): Liz Phair, Sarah McLachlan, Stevie Wonder, Franz Ferdinand, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, R.E.M., Death Cab For Cutie, Rufus Wainwright, Beach Boys, Garbage, Johnny Cash, No Doubt, Paul Westerberg/ Replacements, Aimee Mann, Ryan Adams, White Stripes, Bob Mould/ Husker Du, and of course The Beatles. I'm leaving out great no-brainers like Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones and some other classic bands/ musical artists that are worth including-- but you get the idea! I save my concert ticket stubs, too-- there has been a large dropoff in my concert-going (and CD buying), though. One reason is because I no longer work with Ticketmaster/ at a record store (I used to work for Tower Records, R.I.P.). Plus, music nowadays generally sucks. Also because I'm getting older and need to save money and/ or spend money on other things. I try to keep my 'disposable income' money for my main passion that I will get to in the next category. Back to my music, though-- I'll end (this will end, I promise you) by saying I also like the "Nuggets" CD box set I have of garage rock from the 60s, my "Hitsville: Vol. 1" Motown box set, as well as the "Loud, Fast, and Out Of Control" box set of music from the 50s-- all excellent compilations from Rhino Records. When they aren't playing Dave Matthews Band, my favorite radio station is WXRT. My dream is listen to Sarah McLachlan's "Push" and dance with someone special that adds meaning to the lyrics...

Movies:

Where to start! I own over 500 DVDs (and a buncha laserdiscs-- remember them?!), so I can't narrow it down too easily. Each movie I own is uniquely good in it's own way(s). Some recent theatrical faves (I KNOW I'm missing a bunch here) are the "Kill Bill" movies, "Lost In Translation", "Mystic River", "Batman Begins", "Juno", "Walk The Line"...Oh- and the "40-Year-Old-Virgin", my life story! A few of my treasured DVD buys are "The Ben Stiller Show", "Freaks and Geeks- The Complete Series", and the "Lord Of The Rings" and "Star Wars" trilogies/episodes, of course! I guess I like your typical film geek movies, lotsa smartly stupid funny movies, fantastically imaginative movies, select artsy/indie flicks, Pixar movies, honest/ realistic movies about people, certain B-movies/horror flicks, and cool stuff with people in latex/ leather/ spandex battling evildoers. I LOVE ME SOME MOVIES! If you love movies too, the seat next to mine is always open! Allow a little seriousness to creep into the silly world of my Myspace page for a moment: One movie every person that lives on this earth (and their children, if they have them) should make it a point to see (and act upon, hopefully) is "An Inconvenient Truth", the Al Gore documentary about global warming. All politics aside, I agree with Al Gore (it's very factual, kinda hard not to). This is an eye-opening film about what's going on, and what will happen, unfortunately, if action isn't taken right now. All frighteningly documented & passionately told by a man that simply cares about the world in which we live. OK, stepping off soapbox...just see it for yourself. Also, a great nature series "Planet Earth" that recently came out in a great box set on DVD, is a wonder to behold. It takes you to places you will probably never see in your lifetime, and places you never knew existed. It's got stunning cinematography and David Attenborough's classic narration. So good, it's like porn for nature film watchers!
Gotta Love "LolliLove"...

Television:

In true TV fashion, I'll be back, right after this word from my sponsor...
...Ron's Myspace page will return, right after this...
I basically like stuff that makes me laugh, some "geeky" shows, dramas here and there, and stuff that (sadly) is NOT on television anymore...Alias, All In The Family, Arrested Development, Ben Stiller Show, Blind Date, Brady Bunch, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Dead Like Me, Destination Truth, Dogtown, Dog Whisperer, Ebert and Roeper (R.I.P.), Elimidate, Emergency Vets (you wanna know what makes me cry? THIS does!), Family Guy, Freaks and Geeks, Freestyle, Friends, Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters: International, Ghost Whisperer, A Haunting, Haunting Evidence, House, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Kids In The Hall, Leave It To Beaver, Lost, Man Vs. Wild, MonsterQuest, My Name Is Earl, My So-Called Life, Mythbusters, The Office (NBC), On The Lot, Paranormal State, Psychic Kids: Children Of The Paranormal, Saturday Night Live, SCTV, Seinfeld, Simpsons, Six Feet Under, The Soup, South Park, Strangers With Candy, 30 Rock, Thunderbirds (ya know- those puppets!), Twilight Zone, Two and a Half Men, UFO Hunters (History Channel), Undeclared, VH-1 CLASSIC, VH-1's 'I Love The ..' series, Will and Grace, X-Files...a little of everything. Out of all of 'em, I would have to say "Six Feet Under" is my fave drama and "Freaks and Geeks" is my fave comedy show. Recently, though, I am (for better or worse) a "Jam" fan. Y'know- the term for people (generally teenage girls and me, I'm guessing) that are into the whole TV relationship of Jim and Pam on NBC's 'The Office'. I absolutely find the show hilarious, but their relationship adds a little something real/unexpected to the mix. I know there are lotsa fan 'videos' of Jim and Pam on YouTube that cheese it out and set their scenes to songs by Train and the like, but when seen throughout the course of the show, it's quite charming and pretty realistic. I suppose I'm a "Jammer" mostly because I would like to find my own 'Pam'. On that note, it would be really nice to have a woman to snuggle up on the couch and watch these with me...you might make my cat jealous, though!
