I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm a former High School dropout, which I never try to hide. I believe its part of who I am. To know me is to know the path I’ve been on. The life I’ve lived, the life that I walked away from and strength I must possess to have made it through that period of my life.
On the flipside; I'm also a former stay at home mom, complete w/ two kids, the cute house, swimming pool in the back yard, a good, quiet, middleclass neighborhood, a dog and a SUV. I walked away from this life, as well.....My life has been a wild roller coaster ride.
The only thing that stays the same, it seems, is my job, which is probably the only thing that has kept me from going nuts at certain times of my life.
By nature, I am an extremely curious person. I'm curious about about pretty much anything and everything, except sports. My personality leans toward been scientific and analytical, but I can still be very fun and playful. I'm shy when it comes to social situations and larger groups, yet I'm very open and direct in small groups and especially so when it's one on one.
I'm a firm believer in karma. You reap what you sow. In life; always be kind, forgiving and understanding to others and to yourself. With this, you can't go wrong. It works for me!..

My Interests

Science; biology, physics and cosmology. Photography, fine art, and cooking. I don't watch TV, so in my free time I enjoy puzzles, beading, fussing with my nano reef aquariums, reading non-fiction and surfing the net. Boy! This really makes me sound incredibly boring, doesn't it? If you think so, than I'm sure I would surprise you!

I'd like to meet:

FRIENDS
Some wildly sane people. People that know what is going on in the world; that at least realize the "world" consist of more than the U.S., and the bullsh** way of life that capitalism and commercialism has force feed us from our infancy. People that are aware!

Music:

I like a wide variety of music, but my tastes have pretty much stayed the same through out my life, this far. I find that much of the music I enjoy tends to have a dark undercurrent or deep sadness, and this is more often the common element that defines my taste rather then any genre, per say. I love shopping for music and have a decent size CD library that I've gathered over the years. In my CD collection you will find anything from Philip Glass or Enya all the way to Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie. My all time favorite CD is Surfacing from Sarah McLachlan, followed by Metallica, Master of Puppets.

Movies:

I love Thrillers, Sci-fi and really scary movies. Mostly, I'll enjoy just about anything that doesn't insult my intelligence.
Some of my favorites are; Matrix, Contact, Minority Report, The Spitfire Grill, The Grudge, They, anything with John Cussack in it, and of course Pretty Woman.

Television:

I don't watch TV!

Heroes:

Einstein, Gandhi, Steven Hawking, Wayne Dyer, Carl Sagan, "Cathy" the Neurobiologist that I work with, and my boss "Karen."

My Blog

Am I an atheist or an anti-theist?

Am I an atheist or an anti-theist? Funny how it is that when you go to the physics section of any book store over half of the books you find there are not really about the cold science of physics but...
