About Me

Formed as The Paisley Underground at the end of 1989, followed by a quick name change to The Tombstones, upon being told we would never play Glasgow again after our first gig in February 1990. A line-up change (well swap, see left) in 1993 and we became The Zoo (again to help us get gigs).
Harking back to a more romantic era, with songs of being in love, usually with things that live in swamps or come from outer space, the Tombstones were also infamous for their cover of Lance and Martin's "Primeval Man" (from Home and Away, shown in the UK around June 1990). Anyhoo all the gruesome details are here .
In the meantime, here's just some of the things people have said
``You'll never play again'' a Glasgow muso at our first gig (1990)``A psychedelic nightmare'' Margaret Ann, our first drummer (1990)``Get off and don't come back'' The Swee, Girvan (1991)``You're cancelled, and the guy who booked you's been sacked'' Pythagoras, Glasgow (1993)`Twee melodic guitar bands who have talent will always have a place here. You obviously have none!'' Creation Records (1993)If Stevie ever returns from Australia (where he formed and got thrown out of 3D TV and is now putting together The Spaced ), maybe we'll have another name change...The West Coast of Scotland Pop Art Experimental Band. You never know it may get us some gigs.
The Tombstones only ever fly Weegie Airlines and have their sounds provided by Nainiyirpish Disco Hire
