About Me

The first part of my DJ name "NotaDJ" is my last name. I make a couple of mixtapes every year. I use vinyl records for the biggest part. For my last mixtape "Notagain: tha mixtape part II" I used 45 vinyl records and 3 CD-tracks. Total lenght: 54 minutes. The 12" vinyl is different in so many ways compared to a cd, iTunes track, MP3 zipfile or download. If you ever had a chance to buy vinyl you know that's a fact. You know the difference. The digital stuff to me is not worth spending money on! The 12" with the instrumentals/accapellas and back in the days the long versions and remixes is classic to me and always will be.
The first time I heard some tracks leaked from the Nas Illmatic album was a couple of months before the release. The soundquality was really bad but that made it special. It was exclusive, never heard before and not released yet! I still got it on tape played in a dutch radioshow from back in the days. A classic tape! Nowadays with the internet it's not the same anymore...
When there's no record available anymore I cannot support! So like Akrobatik says: bring the vinyl back. In this digital era I will support the vinyl as long as possible. Vinyl is legendary. Keep the vinyl alive! Shout out to Fat Beats, Monster & Bill Sharp, Halftime (Eclipse, Skizz, Marz, Petey), Premier, Waxwell records Amsterdam, UGHH, art of rhyme, HHV...What more can I say.............Props to everybody releasing the vinyl in the 08!
