Optimus is an organization that encourages and supports all forms of SELF EXPRESSION; with the intent to inform, educate and bring forth a stronger foundation for all generations. We believe in positive change and that’s the element we bring with us on every mission. We are leaders of the new generation seeking change beyond reform, which is a band-aid for a wound only evolution can heal. By evolution we don’t mean war, violence and politics, we mean genuine change that can progress and grow for the benefit of all, which is extremely vital to the success of future generations. We believe a true struggle is a struggle that begins within an individual and expands throughout the world, and that’s how Optimus evolved. It is named after our fallen comrade Matthew Hall to honor his life and his struggle for justice, equality, happiness, love, peace, and freedom. It’s also a neutral name that has no ties politically, religiously or racially. The only race there is, is Human Beings, and that’s our common ground with everybody else out there. We believe in building and working together with everybody despite of background, as long as we build with folks that advance our way of thinking, self knowledge, and productiveness. MATTHEW HALL also known as, OPTIMUS RHYME was an Emcee,BBoy,graff artist,from New York City. More importantly though, he was a friend of many, who was murdered in 2003. In addition to being a HipHop artist Optimus was an “A†student in Hunter college. He participated in uplifting people and promoting awareness by being an active member in society. Matthew attended anti-war rallies and peace protests. He also was a member of the Zulu Nation, Legends Chapter, and Refuse and Resist. To help his community Mathew would partake in food and clothing drives. He also organized music shows, that help up and coming artist gain exposure, Despite all these activities he still was able to find the time to tutor kids over the summer,while attending college in the winter. In his short life he managed to accomplish so much, and proved that time is irrelevant if one puts their mind to attaining their goal, while helping others at the same time. The goal of the Optimus Foundation is to as, Matthew did, Uplift ourselves by helping others.
