About Me

Get off of your computer and go out and play....I wish most of the Earth's population would disappear. Not in an Adolph Hitler kind of way, but in a David Copperfield kind of way....Is it cliched to say, "Hispanics are bad drivers"? Drive in my neighborhood. It's no cliche.... If you're not nice to me you lose, and if I'm not nice back I lose.... Stress sucks. Don't do it.... Drugs are ok if you like that sort of thing. I'd rather spend my money on dope.... If you're clever with math you'll know the whole truth .... If you're young and pretty, you're better off than me.... I do not plan to die....Why do record collectors make such lousy lovers? Because they're always complaining about the 7"s they don't have. Maybe that's why I'm not your typical record collector :O (Yeah, he said that!) -----------

My Interests

Should be obvious by the look in my eyes and the smell of my hair.

Music:

I own all of it. Oh you think you own some, but you're wrong. I have it all. Seriously, go look at your collection. See all those CDs, LPs, whatever? They're a mirage. I have all of it at my little teeny living space. I will die a premature death because huge shelves full of Lps and CDs are going to crush me in a freak earthquake epicentered at State and Michigan. Still I should make a list so that when people search MySpace for who-likes-what-bands they might find me. First I'll plug the fact that I put out 7"EPs by Trenchmouth, Red Red Meat, Ed's Redeeming Qualities and The Doormats (not the Californian band, but the Chicago band of Eleven(th Dream Day) years ago). I still have copies of all but the RRM for sale. Now when I went searching for music weirdos I used the following: The Shop Assistants, Nick Nicely, John Cage, The Hushdrops, Bird Nest Roys, Lou Harrison... I like The Wedding Present, Loudon Wainwright III, Steve Reich, The Nightingales, The Who, The Kinks, The Beatles, James Brown, My Bloody Valentine, The Buzzcocks, 14 Iced Bears, The Clean, The Chills, The Able Tasmans, Toy Love, Tall Dwarfs, Chris Knox, Troubled Hubble, Yo La Tengo, Sebadoh, Stereolab, This Heat, Unrest, Tortoise, Slint, Gang Of Four, DJ Shadow, Harry Parch, Michael Nyman, John Adams, Gavan Bryars, Brian Eno, Penguin Cafe Orchestra, The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band, Neil Innes, The Stranglers, The Ramones, The Television Personalities, Belle & Sebastian, The Velvet Underground, Love, The Zombies, The Beach Boys, Cheer-Accident, The Slugs, Eleventh Dream Day, The Coctails, Edith Frost, Canasta, Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Fats Waller, Louis Jordan, Louis Prima, Braid/Hey Mercedes/City On Film, Promise Ring/Maritime, Colin McPhee, Erik Satie, Yeah Yeah Noh, Wire, The Wrens, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Laurie Anderson, Pixies/Breeders, Nirvana, Cab Calloway, Slim Gaillard & Slam Stewart, Flanders & Swann, John Coltrane, Flaming Lips, Philip Glass, Nick Drake, O.M.D., Syd Barrett/Pink Floyd, The Teardrop Explodes/ Julian Cope, Throwing Muses, Can, Kraftwerk, Neu, Funkadelic, Blake Babies, XTC, Half Man Half Biscuit, I Ludicrous, Husker Du, George Formby...check back later for more additions...

Movies:

DAMN. It's like a effin video store 'round here! Do you have TCM? I'm DVing most of their broadcast library.

Television:

I wish I could watch it more. I like TV. I have boxes and boxes of tapes of TV. Not the crap you sit and watch because you've had a hard day and need to veg, but really good quality television. I tape all this stuff 'cause I'm too busy seeing concerts and improv to watch it. But I will watch it, someday, after both my legs are crushed in a freak earthquake....

Books:

The only good books involve sprites and fairies, and they're non-fiction.

Heroes:

chosen few

I've had tons to talk (blog) about in the last two months, but I seldom find it worth my time to do so. As a follow up to the previous post: I'm feeling better, thank you. But today was a zinger. Afte...

Trying to make the best of a sorry situation

I’m still having a hard time shaking the depression. Fortunately it’s not a constant hum, but a wave form. As I hate to wallow in it and would hope it would go away, I’ve done to thi...

Can’t sit still

Sometimes, for no obvious reason, I get depressed. I think this is a human thing and not an Aadam thing. The littlest thing can set me off. Simply being told, "no," for something unimportant. This mor...

To whom it may concern: Thank you

I don't know if I'm one to avoid burdening others with my problems. I know I try not to talk too much about my life's difficulties because, frankly, I don't want to hear about most other people's.You ...

What news with me

I have an idea how many people read this, and because I think that number is very small and made up of people I talk to regularly, I don't write much. I also don't write much because when I'm on line,...

I shall be released

I often think that I really must make a list of all the bands that have released recordings that I have made at their concerts. Now, in an effort to impress the few who read these things, I present wh...
