About Me

What is Blimp?

Blimp is simply the musical outlet for Dave Girtsman. Dave thought Blimp sounded better than “The Dave Girtsman Project”, so he went with it. Dave writes, records and plays most of the instruments on the music you hear, with the occasional help from a friend or two.
What has Dave done in the past?
Dave has played in many a local band (The Mudheads, Big Biscuit Express, etc, etc) and also as a solo artist. He has also played as a backing musician for such artists as: Susanna (The Bangles) Hoffs, The Primitive Radio Gods, Yada, Yada, Yada...
He is also the owner/engineer of his own private recording studio where he produces and engineers his own music and occasionally for others.
What is Dave doing now?
Dave is currently writing and recording his own music, producing his own segment "Dave's Ant Farm", for the XM show, "Musicians Radio". The segment spotlights lesser known musical artists, who Dave thinks should be more known....The show airs on Sundays 8 eastern 5 pacific on XMPR channel 133 or at iTunes podcasts Musicians Radio www.musiciansradio.com
He is also creating music for the animated short feature "Honkbarn" which can be seen here: www.honkbarn.com
Composing music for Pulitzer Prize winning Editorial Cartoonist, Nick Anderson: Click here to watch!
He is also creating really bad videos that he posts at: Have a look!
