Hi. Seven years ago my husband Dennis and I decided we needed some adventure in our lives. So, we ditched our corporate jobs, sold our waterfront home and jammed our "stuff" into a rented storage garage. We took off from St. Petersburg, Florida in our 42-foot Krogen trawler for Roatan, a small scuba diving island, about 30-miles off the coast of Honduras. Since then, we built a house and two guest residences on the Caribbean Sea overlooking the world's second largest reef.We had been diving all over the Caribbean and could have moved anywhere in the world. However, we selected Roatan and specifically Caribe Pointe Bight, for its unmatched beauty.
Shortly after arrival on Roatan, I formed a local marketing company with a young South African gal. We started "SMARTpages" the island's Business and Vacation Guide. We bailed out last year after several successful printings. Now, its just lots of freelance writing, scuba diving, snorkeling, entertaining guests, taking care of our three dogs and several trips to the U.S. every year to see family!
