About Me

Butterscotch is an independent self-published magazine filled with stuff that we like as opposed to whatever is outrageously trendy, cool or neon that is out there at the current moment. Sometimes we overlap, at times we don’t. Not that we object to the “scene” in any way but what we are saying is that Butterscotch is a mongrel. We admire, we poach, we modify, and we worship things…ALL things. This is a magazine born from our own fads. And fads are slick. Fads constantly change. And who wants to stand still? When you stand still, you fall on your arse.We find inspiration in everything and anything; this is our pedestal, our soapbox, our voice. This is our fad. Make it yours too.
In Issue #1
An interview with Dickensian Goth-rockers 'Soho Dolls'; Pulitzer Prize-winning journalism and award-winning photography from throughout the years with extreme sports masterpiece 'Stoked'; ex-Test Icicles troubadour Dev Hynes’ 'Lightspeed Champion'; John Waters raises the bar of queer cinematic filth with his 'Pink Flamingos'; big basslines and even bigger kicks emanating from Southend’s Kool Kids Klub; Sam Cooke and the Rolling Stones make on impact on the socio-political landscape; as well as the Sounds, hip hop experimentalism in London’s trendy 'Life' bar as well as bold and daring fashion shoots and illustrations
