About Me

Ady and Woo first came together when Woo sold Ady his first bass guitar and they immediately formed a garage band blasting out Black Sabbath, early Pink Floyd and a whole bunch of old R&B standards. A handsome young singer named Rob was hauled into the chaos for his dazzling charm and boundless enthusiasum and soon the group was completed by the calm enigma named Rich pounding out the rhythm like a living beatbox. At the first practice it was evident something special was happening. Woo thought Rich's Pavement t-shirt was the bomb and it turned out they'd both been at the same Pavement / Mercury Rev show years before. Rob sung his heart out and Ady nailed the bottom end so hard it had bruises. Thus Akaken were born in a howl of feedback. ..
