About Me

You may know me as iwficon. You may know me as Matt. If you are really lucky, you may know me as Dean.
Hell, you may not know me at all.
But you may like to know the following little facts about me; Indeed, if some jobber hadn't already taken the idea, you could call these "Matt Facts".
* I have my Grade 1 in the Violin.
* I am a qualified Grade 3 Football Association Referee.
* Once, when I was going out with a girl I sat down next to the wrong woman in a night-club. It was five minutes before I realised that the girl sat next to me wasn't my girlfriend. All kinds of trouble ensued.
* I've got a degree in English Language And Literature, and have ANOTHER degree in Estate Management. This makes me almost a Chartered Surveyor. Notice the ALMOST. However I am officially a BA(Hons) BSc. So it's time for a new cheque book.
* I once came second in the UCE Children In Need Yard Of Ale drinking competition. In my defence though, I had been drinking all day and the chap who won hadn't. And he only beat me by 2 seconds anyway. And come on, downing a yard of ale in 73 seconds when you've been in the pub all day anyway is STILL impressive.
* My hand once appeared on BBC 1's North West Tonight.
* I was once questioned by Police due to the fact that they thought I'd kidnapped a girl at gun point and taken her to the local park. I should point out that I hadn't.
* At my 21st Birthday party I sang "Merry Christmas Everyone" by Shakin' Stevens on Karaoke. My birthday is in July.
* Twice, the woman of my dreams came onto me. Twice, I inexplicably turned her down. She didn't try a third time.
* I have been hospitalised due to alcohol poisoning.
* I once refused to pay for a meal in a New York restaurant because Angela Landsbury had taken the last Shark Steak. Which was what I had wanted.
* Infamous WWE wrestler Jake "The Snake" Roberts (no relation) once accused me of feeling his arse.
* Me and my mate once totally slagged off Maroon 5 in front of one of their girlfriends. Allegedly.
* I've spanked Sandi Thom.

My Interests

I support Wigan Warriors, Tottenham Hotspurs and Lancashire Cricket.

I'd like to meet:

Like minded souls.

Music:

Music is my passion. Rather than witter on here about what I like, why don't you check my blogs, which contain all kinds of musical reviews and the like. If you agree, or disagree, with anything, let me know.

Movies:

I'm a huge fan of the Alfred Hitchock movies, the best being Rear Window, Shadow Of A Doubt, North By Northwest and Vertigo. Other than that I love the James Bond series, and I love a good horror movie too.

Television:

It's all a bit boring these day's isn't it? Where are the classics like Quantum Leap and The Prisoner? Never mind The Avengers, The Champions etc. That said, I like Alias, Hex, Family Guy, The Simpsons, Futurama, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Time Trumpet, Rob Brydon's Annually Retentive and things like FBI Files and Forensic Detectives on the Discovery Channel. I have barely left the house since Virgin Media added the Crime & Investigation Network to our cable.

Books:

Lord Of The Rings, The Hobbit, Dave Gorman's Googlewhack Adventure, Are You Dave Gorman?, Join Me. I don't read nearly as much as I should.

My Blog

Oh My God

I can't believe it, i've not posted on here for four months. More crap coming soon folks.

Girls Aloud LIVE

I could go on and on about the long search for a restaurant that had a spare table and I could go on and on about the rather mardy girl on the table next to us who wanted a free meal for 8 people beca...

Katharine McPhee - Katharine McPhee

The thing with not watching American Idol (or indeed any programme of that ilk) is that when the slew of albums reach the shops, because let's face it the programmes long ago ceased to be about the wi...

Everlife - Everlife

From time to time you come across an album that is so cynically put together with the bottom-line in mind that it is all you can do not to throw your hands up in despair. This is one of those occasions...

Taylor Swift - Taylor Swift

I may have told this story before but there was a time around the mid 90's when CMT was my favourite music channel on the TV. Sure the trendies at school thought I was a bit weird (because as ever I t...

Dying To Say This To You - The Sounds

Well I tipped them as stars of 2007, and we all know that won't happen. But that shouldn't stop me reviewing the album. It's been out in Europe for ages, but will soon get a UK release so why not, hey...

What a fine week it is for singles this week. No, seriously. I know that most weeks I seem to rage against virutally anything, but this week WILL be different. Sure, I've no doubt I'll find something ...
