Out of love and necessity rather than profit and novelty, owners Edzon and Gee opened the Patta sneaker and streetwear store in spring 2004. Situated right in the city heart of Amsterdam, Patta literally became the center of attention by bringing new excitement to the Dutch streetwear scene, making unknown or hard-to-find brands and items accessible for anyone interested.
Alongside the usual names like Adidas, Asics, Nike, Puma and Reebok, you can also find products from fresh brands such as Alife, ANX, Haze, Huf, IHMDJ, JMoney, Kikstyo, Mama, Married to the Mob, Phenomenon, Red Clay, Rockers NYC, Rockwell, Staple Design, Stüssy, $wagger, The Hundreds and UNDFTD, among others.
Rockwell-owner, graphic artist and Patta family-member Parra, once situated on the third floor of the Patta building, played a major role in Patta's rapid growth as well. He is the creator of most Patta-graphics and directed a number of collaborations.
In 2005, Benny Komala completed the trilogy and joined the family by opening a skateboardshop on ground floor, which used to be art exhibition space. Brands like 10 Deep, Chocolate, Crooks & Castles, Diamond Supply Co., DVS, Es, Etnies, Fucking Awesome, Girl, Independent, Kilo Goods, Krooked, Nike SB, Rocksmith and Venture can all be found there.
In 2006, Nike decided to offer Patta a prestigious Tier 0-account, the one and only account of it's kind in The Netherlands. More ideas, concepts, product and collaborations with various brands are soon to follow, as growth and expansion continues...
