Bio:
In 1999 Japanese rappers Big-O and Iggy launched Swagger, a clothing line that is both an interpretation of the hip-hop aesthetic and an example of Japanese precision and attention to detail.
Swagger has a high-end approach to designing street wear that is deeply rooted in honoring a progressive, urban youth lifestyle with a strong, fresh, new freestyle on classics. "We've been traveling back and forth from Tokyo to New York for more than a decade. We are inspired by the city of New York, by classic, throwback, hip-hop culture, by skaters, graffiti artists, painters and all artists whose lifestyle and art are one. At the same time we have a very strong passion for creating our own fashion trends in Tokyo. Swagger is a way for us to interpret the dialogue of two great world cities into the language of fashion," explains Big-O and Iggy. Such stylistic vision has made Swagger one of the hottest new high-end street brands.
Limited edition collaborations over the past four years with well-established US brands like The North Face, Timberland, and Levis, have raised Swagger’s profile even more. Never content with the mundane, Swagger continues to be on the forefront of street fashion through cutting edge design committed to originality and excellence.
The first flagship Swagger store opened in 2002 in Ebisu, Tokyo. Since then, six more have been established throughout Japan in Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Sendai, Matsuyama, Nagoya and Kobe. In US, Swagger is in exclusive boutiques like Union NY/LA, Huf and St. Alfred. The second flagship store opened on July 21st/2007 in the world famous Harajuku section of Tokyo.
