BIOGRAPHY: Darrell has been playing drums since the age of four and was hired for his first professional recording session at 14. He has studied with Jim Chapin, Lou Marino, Mike Caputy, and Ron Rocco.

Throughout the 1990's he appeared on several national television music variety shows and toured around the world. He has performed or recorded with artists: Brian Johnson & Cliff Williams from AC/DC, Elliott Randall & Chuck Rainey from Steely Dan, The Forrester Sisters, Robbie Nevil, George Clinton (Parlament Funkadelic), Rick Derringer, The Warren Brothers, Pat Travers, Neil Steubenhaus, Carolyn Leonhart (Steely Dan), Danny Shepard, The Platters, The Coasters, The Temptations, Bo Diddley, Danny & the Jrs., Carolyn Harding, The Lynns (Loretta Lynn's Daughters), John Beltran, Johnny Neal, John Mooney, Lew Del Gatto, Heather Brooks, Emir & Frozen Camels, David Johnson (The Neville Brothers), Herb Williams & Gibraltar, Anthony Williams (Patti Labelle), and more.

As a producer, he has diversely written songs in several genres of music including: jazz, pop, rock, jam band, experimental, spoken-word, house, chill/lounge, breakbeat, garage, brazilian, nujazz, trance, downtempo, and latin. Breakout tracks include: "Without You" featuring Margaret Cerniglia (remixes by George Acosta & DJ Infiniti), "Faith" & "I Wonder Why" featuring Carolyn Leonhart. "Bossa de Agua" & Talk 2 Me" from the cd BRASIL AFTER HOURS, & "Rio Kafé" featuring Kelly Fagan from his debut cd "Darrell Nutt - What Is A Groove - (reissued in 2007)". Darrell has also been featured on the "CLUB MED" series of cd compilations, and the very popular "MIAMI DEEPER" series.

In 2002, he had the honor of sharing the Devorin Music Award for "Best International Collaboration" for the cd release: "SAN - Emir & Frozen Camels". He is also a featured music contributor for "A Day To Love And Die" - featured in the "New York International Independent Film and Video Festival".

Darrell is currently writing music for television on the Speed Network, national commercial spots, and film. and has written production music for CNN, HGTV, and UNIVERSAL MUSIC. He has also contributed to work for MOTOROLA, ATLANTIC RECORDS, SONY, UBIQUITY RECORDS, WARNER/REPRISE, and has personally programmed synthesiser soundbanks for YAMAHA MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS.

Darrell has toured inside The USA, Canada, Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Trinidad, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, Bosnia, Romania, Slovenia, and Serbia. He is looking forward to more experiences outside of the USA.

Darrell has played on hundreds of releases and continues to write and record his own music. He is also recording drum tracks for people all over the world from his South Florida studio. Darrell is dedicated to sharing the gift of music through recording, performing, writing, and teaching.
