Here at Kream Management, we believe in being as honest with our clients as possible. This belief extends to potential clientele as well. With that being said we feel it would be in the best interest of all parties inquiring about management to read and fully understand the following.
In this oversaturated market, it is essential that as we look through the numerous requests for managerial representation that we keep a realistic eye to what you can and can’t do as a particular artist. The music/entertainment field is in a state of flux and is undergoing a rapid change brought on by the multimedia growth that has occurred over the past few years. It’s no longer about getting a demo into a record label anymore. Pure talent doesn’t equal success. With the current MySpace/YouTube age that we live in, there are more factors to take into consideration.
In this generation it is great to have a belief in yourself and your art but in relation to the business of music, you have to be able to market and sell yourself to some degree on your own before you can expect others to believe in you. Management comes from the act “to manage†which is defined as:
1. Be successful; achieve a goal;
2. Be in charge of, act on, or dispose of;
3. Come to terms or deal successfully with;
4. Watch and direct;
This is a union of your leadership, direction and networking/marketing knowledge with passion, creativity and financial means. Before entering any partnership you have to understand and be honest with yourself. We are here to aid in your professional progression but there has to be some degree of progress for us to build .. and think to yourself, what am I presenting this business team that would make them invest time in me? Now yes money does motivate but we will not take your money just to do it. We have to believe in the possibility of real success. If you direct us to a MySpace music page do you have a respectable song hit count in relation to your friends list? (I.e. if you have 5000 friends but your songs can’t get even a few hundred listens that’s a bad ratio).Do you have past mix tape appearances, independent albums, and performance history? Does your page show you as an artist? All of these are important.
