The question isn't what are we going to do, the question is what aren't we going to do? --Ferris Bue

About Me

I work in a library creating programming for adults and teens. I was born in California and have since lived in Kansas, Oklahoma, Indiana, Colorado, Nevada and Kentucky. I spent my high school years in Reno, Nevada. I have two sons, 12 and 17.

My Interests

I like to write, read, shoot pool, shoot photographs, and listen to live music. I like to go fishing and camping, play cards and Mancala, drink beer, go to the movies, and make things grow and bloom.

I'd like to meet:

Cool, funny, smart, nice people. Also people I can whip at pool.

Music:

"The Man. Oh, you don't know The Man? The Man's everywhere: in the White House, down the hall, Miss Mullins; she's The Man! And The Man ruined the ozone, and he's burning down the Amazon and he kidnapped Shamu and put her in a chlorine tank! Okay! And there used to be a way to stick it to The Man, it was called rock 'n roll. But guess what? Oh no! The Man ruined that too with a little thing called MTV! So don't waste your time trying to make anything cool or pure or awesome 'cause The Man's just gonna call you a fat washed up loser and crush your soul. So do yourself a favor and just give up!" ~Jack Black in School of Rock ~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~Locally - Ned Van Go, Magically Delicious, BonePony, Mr. Dink, Boogeyman Jubilee, Johnny Thompson, Lee Harvey, Floord, The Loft, Andrea Tanaro and the Optional Italian Buffet, Michael Gough, John Martin, Dry Land Fish, and Rufus Huff. There are lots more, just come on out and hear them!Other favorites - in no particular order - are Neko Case, Jamie Cullum, Norah Jones, Ramones, Van Morrison, Maroon 5, Jet, Etta James, Joss Stone, Mozart, AC/DC, The Jackson 5, Cher, and Elton John. There are sooooo many more, and my tastes are very eclectic.

Movies:

Probably my very favorite movie is The Princess Bride, but there are lots of others that I really love. I love comedies like Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the Pink Panther movies and Airplane. Jack Black cracks me up with Nacho Libre and The Pick of Destiny and earlier with School of Rock. But mostly I'm all about romance. An Affair to Remember, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Sleepless in Seattle, While You Were Sleeping. I don't even care if they're predictable, I love 'em! Some more favorites are Stranger Than Fiction, The Holiday, and Hot Fuzz.

Television:

Hardly ever watch it.

Books:

___________________________________________________Elizabeth Barrett Browning ~~~~~"Books, books, books! I had found the secret of a garret-room Piled high with cases in my father's name; Piled high, packed large, -- where, creeping in and out Among the giant fossils of my past, Like some small nimble mouse between the ribs Of a mastodon, I nibbled here and there At this or that box, pulling through the gap, In heats of terror, haste, victorious joy, The first book first. And how I felt it beat Under my pillow, in the morning's dark, An hour before the sun would let me read! My books!"_____________________________________________________ ________________I love anything by Alice Hoffman, Neil Gaiman, Christopher Moore, all the Harry Potter books, Dean Koontz's Lightning, The Time Traveler's Wife, The Mercy of Thin Air, and all the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich. The Chronicles of Narnia, To Kill a Mockingbird, to name just a smattering of favorites.

Heroes:

The Bionic Woman, Dana, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, J.K. Rowling, Audrey Niffeneggar, Ellen DeGeneres, lots of others!
