MC DAP has been mcing since the turn of the millennium influenced not only by jungle / Drum and Bass but also by reggae and dancehall vibes too. It’s been the past 2 years that DAP has excelled to another level. Having mc’ed mainly around the midlands at events such as Disk-Connected, Nasty Ways, Back To skool DAP has built a fan base and has raised a number of eye brows.
DAP has entered various Competition’s as Random Concept held a competition for their November 2006 Valve event at Air. His was short listed and was asked to perform in Arena 2 where the finalist where to be judged by a representative from drum and bass arena.
November 2006 saw Drum and Bass arena celebrating its 10th Birthday and ran an MC/DJ competition where the finalist where to perform at this event. DAP reached the final stages of the competition and was invited to perform at the legendary Ministry of Sound, London. The competition was won by two DJ’s and two MC’s.
June 2007 Random concept held their DJ and MC competition and once again DAP sent in his demo which was listened to by Random concepts very own Garry K. The competition was whittled down to 3 DJ’s and 3 MC’s who where to perform live at the innovation warm up party Air nightclub Birmingham. The finalists would be performing live and their sets to be recorded and then judged by DJ Friction and the double award winning MC Eksman.
It was MC Eksman who judged winning DAP recording and congratulated him as he won the competition alongside DJ Stanza. The winning pair performed live at Innovation in the 2007 in the main arena at the Lloret de mar on the Wednesday night performing alongside Andy C, Bassman. DAP will also be performing at the Next Random Concept in November 2007.
