They need your help to raise funds and it lets you give alittle back also.One of my goals for 2008 is to have a concert for the SURVIVORS of loved ones lost to this horrific disease. A time for healing and a place where people find comfort and HOPE. What better way than MUSIC. What better way than to gather with people that have gone thru the same tragic, painful and suffering of losing a loved one from this horrifc disease. When I first got started with this, I had NO idea the devastating statics and the survival rate. Some FACTS::: * Every 14 minutes someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.* Pancreatic cancer is the 3rd leading cause of cancer death among 40-59 year old men.* Approximately 37,170 Americans will be dianosed with Pancreatic Cancer this year. * There are NO early detectinmethods so the disease is usually diagnosed in late stage.* Men are 20% more likely to develop cancer of the pancreas than women.* In 2006, an estimated $66.7 milion dollars of the National Cancer Institues's (NCI)cancer research investment was spent on pancreatic cancer research. This is just 1% of the NCI's $4.8 BILLION dollar cancer reasearch budget for 2006. Private donations make possible everything we do, including persudading the United States Congress to procalim NOVEMBER as Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.PanCAN directs 85 cents of every dollar raised to support the research, patient, public policy and outreach and eduation programs that have made PanCAN a national leader in the fight against pancreatic cancer.Won't you please, pass this on to all your friends on MYSPACE/ What better way to get the word out and make everyone aware and to help.
