About Me

I RETIRE
After 12 years, a whole shit ton of records, crazy live sets, drugs, alcohol, rental car miles, flaming airplanes, good shows, bad shows, good promoters, shady motherfuckers, friends, enemies, ne'erdowells, rehab, relapse, regurgitating, reemergences and reclusive tendencies... i found myself starting off 2008 asking "What's the fucking point?"
Fact is, i just lost interest. You can only make a 180 bpm breakbeat tune with a filthy bass and a bunch of horror movie soundtrack samples so many times before getting bored. I want to do other things and time is not as elastic as it once was.
Thank you to everybody who listened, bought records, stole records, booked me to play their city, gave me a floor to crash on, fed me, released my shit, etc. etc. etc.

the sound of hardcore (analog or digital) when it isn't self-referential mockery
the sound of machinery used incorrectly in the best possible way
circuit bent teddy ruxpins that sound like the voices who tell you to kill
texas instruments data cassettes played backwards on the wrong speed after being left in a glove box in mexico
the record that comes on at 4 am when you're crashing that just makes everything feel that much more hopeless
tracks that are more and more a mindfuck every time you hear them: "certain sound" - paradox. "system bleed" - kemal. "beneath the mask" - makai. "known:unknown - chaos edit" - dom and roland. "turnover" - decoder. "sphere" - danny c. "alchaloid (rmx)" - submerged. "strange peace" - current value. every time i hear one of these tracks i hear something new. every time i hear one of these tracks, no matter how much i might hate drum and bass that week, i find the passion again. it's rare, but every now and again, one of these still comes out. the sound of brown acid mixing with bathtub research chemicals
angst. disgust. doubt. dashed hopes and the satisfaction of giving up.
Sounds Like: your funeral. you're late.

Memoirs of a 17-year-old death metal drummer.

The year was 1990 and, like most kids weaned on the mixed messages of Saved By The Bell, Just Say No, Black Flag and their first few LSD experiences - i had become listless. Not so much at the antiest...
