ULTRASOUND started out spinning in his hometown, Detroit, Michigan, USA. Progressive Dance Music caught his ear and records like New Order's Blue Monday / The Beach, Capricorn's I Need Love, Martin Circus' Disco Circus, Quando Quango's Atom Rock, Cybotron's Alleys of Your Mind and others found a home in his first crates.
Circa 1985, after the onset of Detroit Techno and just before the wave of House Music began to flourish, ULTRASOUND made a break from the turntables but remained a devoted fan of the Underground Music Scene and stayed in tune with such styles as Industrial, Techno, Acid House, early Ambient / Trance and Hardcore Rave. It was also around this time that he began to tinker with such devices as the Yamaha RX7 drum computer, Korg Poly 800 synthesizer and Tascam 4 track recorder, programming and recording his first musical pieces as part of an ensemble which included a bassist, guitarist, keyboardist and others.
In '93 he began discovering Hardcore Jungle. ULTRASOUND moved to Germany in '95 and began checking out the European Club Culture. He again started spinning in '97 and in '98 began playing House and Jungle / Drum and Bass in Saarbrücken's then cult lounge UNTN.
Since then, ULTRASOUND has made regular appearances at the UNSER DING radio studio (Saarbrücken, Germany) from 2000 to 2002 (then known as DJ ROMMEL, playing HOUSE sets) and played various engagements alongside the likes of NICKY BLACKMARKET, APHRODITE, MICKEY FINN, DJ SS, JUMPIN' JACK FROST, DOC SCOTT, RAY KEITH, SHIMON, XRS, DJ SPINBACK (TOTAL SCIENCE), MC SYSTEM, DJ SPARXX, E DECAY, BASSLINE GENERATION, LOO-P, SOULSURFER, MC NAVIGATOR, MC KILLA BEE, DJ SWAN E, MC FATMAN D, MC STEP PB, DJ RINGO, DJ TRICK, PHACE, DJ LUUK, MC BUSTER, M-TRAK, JAPS E, TYCOON, MAN@ARMS, DAYMON KAY, DJ JEFF, MC K, RED BUSTA FLEX, FUNKSTA, DJ SICKHEAD, DRUMATIK, MC KWESTION, SUBZ & MATIK, TRAPJAW, HYDECORE and the list goes on.
