Well I really dont know where to begin, so I guess I'll start by introducing myself. My name is Jimmy. My real name is James. I have gone by Jimmy for as long as I have been alive though. I am 27. I was born in Pocatello Idaho. My Dad still lives there and my Mom lives in Nampa. I went to Elementry School in Boise, Jr. and Sr. High in Pocatello, then BSU for college.
I went to college for computers, but when the twin towers went down, it caused a ripple effect which made a lot of computer manifacturers, component manifacturers, help desks etc etc lay people off. During the saturation of IT people, I got into the Mortgage industry. I have been doing that for 4.5 years. I was laid off in November of 2008, the mortgage industry isn't doing so hot.
Music:
Music is simply amazing. Its fascinating that organized vibrations can cause such a ruckus. Music down to the simplest sound, the percussion of hitting something, then hitting something else that has a different vibration, organize it, and bam....music. Its amazing to see how far it has come, and how some has gone full circle. There are no limits to music, no boundries, and it will be something always evolving. I find it amazing that classical music was considered evil when it first started being produced. I cant imagine what they would think of the music now. Just the same I cannot imagine the music in 100 years from now. One personal promise I made to myself is to never be one of those people who stop being open minded about music. I hate it when people get stuck in an era. Yes it was good music and always will be, but that doesnt mean it was the best music that was ever/will ever be made. I absolutly love to hear music I havent heard before, I never want to lose that.
For fun:
For fun I like to do things, ok I'll elaborate. I'm not really a person that sits on the couch and watches tv. In fact, I dont watch TV, at all. I usally find myself pretty busy with work, karate, music, and my girlfriend. If I'm not doing one of those things, I'm probably hanging out with my friends. I like the outdoors. I also love the city. Some people prefer one or the other, I think they both have their benifits, especially if your a dj. Hard to find a record shop...wait a min...its hard to find a record shop in Idaho. Ok so its hard to find an internet connection to order records in the woods. Tell you what, its a pain in the ass tryin to keep your records out of the sun & heat in the hills too...hah! If I melted a crate of records, I would use the vinyl bag as a weight to hang myself from the nearest tree.
Karate is also a huge part of my life. I am learning American Kenpo from Mr. Tippetts here in Boise Idaho. He is currently a 5th degree black belt. Not only is he a very talented fighter, but a great friend. He genuinely cares about all of his students. Ever since I started, I have noticed a huge positive impact all of it has had in my life. I can't thank him enough for that. He is definatly someone I will always look up to.
Well, anything else, just ask...
