BIO:CHILDHOOD
Young Stamps was born Marlo Stamps-Diles in Fairfield, California. Raised in San Francisco, his parents were young and never married when he was conceived. His father missed out on most of his childhood stockbroking, later he would become a Jehovah’s Witness and move to Salt Lake City, Utah. This left Stamps’ mother to move to Suisun to live with her mother and father (Mr. and Mrs. Stamps). Young Stamps would spend the rest of his life in Suisun by the age of 6.
Stamps began Martial Arts at a young age, following in his cousin Pearce’s footsteps (whom he looked up to). Eventually, he received his black belt at the age of 13 (a total of 7 years of training). He became an exhibitionist at this age winning accolades nationally and regionally. His plans were to work for his Sensei and run his own dojo., but those plans changed.
Young Stamps attended Suisun Elementary until the 2nd grade where he transferred to Solano Christian Academy, because of bad behavior, and met his soon to be band mate Gigio. By the 7th grade, Stamps and Gigio had grew fond of Hip Hop and began creating custom material – writing songs. Young Stamps would continue to pursue a musical career for the rest of his life.
BANDS
By high school, Fairfield High School, he would join a rap group known as The Warriors. (he and Gigio had not formulated a unit until they had graduated) He took the name "Shur Shot" (sure shot) which he found in a Sports Illustrated magazine in an articled based on Michael Jordan. During his run with the Warriors, he grew strong friendships with each of the members: Bad News, Preach, Diz 160, and KO (who he grew fond of the most; proclaiming him as his illegitimate brother). Once Warriors split, due to quarrels among group members, he would reunite with childhood friend Gigio. They would rap with fellow band mates in a group called SK (which stood for Street Kredibility) The group would form a buzz throughout the summer of ‘06 pressing shows and mixtapes until a charity show where the group had a fall out
BEEF
Feuds initially involving KO caused him to dispute with other local artists: Effex, Yungstah, Payce, Ase Card, and Taj He Spitz (all discord is presumed to be presently resolved).
PROJECTS
He would put out two mixtapes and two albums with Warriors. His projects did decent in the aspects of sales and buzz (with given accommodations) until the release of "Excellence of Execution" (2005) which solidified his mark as an emcee locally (selling over 200 copies by hand on campus by himself). After high school, he would record for his solo mixtape "The Matinee" and then his compilation "The Sharpshooter Collection" which would secure solicitation by Talent 2k (an agency to get unsigned artists exposure to major labels). He is set to release "You’ve Got Mail", his independent debut album with the solicitation/distribution of Sonic Wave International mid 2008.
