I love music that moves me; doesn’t matter if it moves my body or my soul, as long as there’s an exhilarating sense of motion I’m satisfied.
I grew up in Hannibal, Missouri and I got hooked on music through the radio and in my teenaged years MTV came along. There were no live music venues in Hannibal at the time, so the sounds/songs that influenced me then are the rock classics of today. When I turned 16 I got a bunch of friends together and drove to Saint Louis to see Fleetwood Mac in concert. It was all over after that…I started writing poems and my parents bought me a piano…I started learning chords, and soon I was turning my poems into songs.
I was and still am fascinated by artists who write their own material. To me, that is how a true rock artist is defined. Granted, great rock performers are fantastic and are worthy of all the praise they get, but rockers like Fleetwood Mac are true artists because they literally sing their hearts out…they actually create the music they perform. To me, that is poetry in motion and that is the call I chose to follow.
I’m not a big time artist…not yet anyway, LOL…but Myspace has given folks like me a venue, so to speak, to share original music with folks like you who are maybe looking for stuff that’s beyond what gets played on the radio. I think this a unique opportunity to connect with likeminded individuals all over the world as well. That’s why I’m here. So, if you’re reading this, thanks! If you listened to a few of my songs, thanks again. And if you decide to befriend me, thank you thank you thank you very much, and please keep in touch!
