About Me

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. I possess a quirky sense of humor and a desire to learn and experience new things. Born in Minnesota, I moved to Texas as a child. In 2000, I left Texas to move to the Bay Area. I had studied journalism at the University of Texas in Austin, but never quite finished. My ancestral origin is half Asian and half Scandinavian, but I am proud to be all American. I enjoy reading, writing, travel, museums, movies, theater, dining out, and spending time with my friends. I am planning to finish my degree in San Francisco, concentrating on Western/European history. I have a fascination with the struggles and great achievements of Western civilization. My Interests

I love to read and travel to learn about history, other cultures, human nature and behavior, and the world in general.

I'd like to meet:

Sincere, openminded people. I am always interested in making new friends.

Music:

I enjoy a wide variety of music, including pop, new age, showtunes, easy listening, Baroque, and classical. I love sappy romantic songs, and I love eighties music.Hungry Like a Wolf

Movies:

My taste in movies is somewhat eclectic. I enjoy a wide range of classic and contemporary films. I must admit I have a soft spot for romances, especially unique ones, and zany comedies and farces. My passion for history and literature has made me somewhat difficult to please when it comes to historical movies and adaptations of novels, but I thoroughly enjoy a successful translation to film. Books:

I love to read. I enjoy classic literature from great authors such as Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, W. Somerset Maugham, Oscar Wilde, William Faulkner, and many more. I also enjoy modern romances and Agatha Christie mysteries. I love historical non-fiction. My favorite historical biographer is Alison Weir, whose books about Medieval/Tudor/Elizabethan figures are fascinating and thorough.

Obama selects Biden as running mate
